Writer Dan Abnett was interviewed by CBR's Brian Cronin in anticipation of Imperial Guardians #1 yesterday. He spoke specifically about Darkhawk and his long-running plans for the character:
They’ve remained pretty consistent, but I’m really leaning into it here… exploring Darkhawk’s uncertainty about himself, and - most of all - WHAT he is and where his powers come from. I think it’s shaping up to be an amazing story that will refresh Darkhawk without losing any of the things about him that people love.
Dan Abnett first wrote Darkhawk in 2008 in the pages of Nova. He also addressed whether there are plans for a guest-appearance by Nova. An exclusive preview is also included. Imperial Guardians #1 goes on sale March 11. Source: CBR
Gerry Conway will make his final public signing appearance on Saturday, February 14, 2026. The writer co-created Spider-Man's clone during his time on Amazing Spider-Man with artist Ross Andru in the 1970s. The character was brought back in the 1990s, and as Scarlet Spider, briefly joined the New Warriors. Gerry Conway is also known for co-creating the Punisher and writing the famous story "The Night That Gwen Stacy Died" earlier in that same Amazing Spider-Man run. Arsenal Comics & Games will host the signing at their Newbury Park location in Southern California from 12 to 3 PM Pacific. See the store's Instagram post for more information (also embedded below).
Nova: Centurion #4 by Jed MacKay, Matteo Della Fonte and Mattia Iacono with VC's Cory Petit has been released to comic book stores by Marvel Comics. Featuring a cover by Alessandro Cappuccio and Rachelle Rosenberg, and variant covers by Federico Vicentini with Edgar Delgado, and Jeremy Wilson, the issue stars New Warriors founding member Nova, aka Richard Rider. Marvel described the issue with the following:
Being NOVA PRIME ain't easy -- between doing good and doing what needs to be done to keep the Worldmind running (which sometimes includes doing good), RICH RIDER barely has time to sleep. But when his ship gets stolen by dishonorably discharged ex-Nova Corps member and intergalactic criminal mastermind EDEN RIXLO, Rich is at risk of not even having a place to lay his head.
Marvel Comics also released Uncanny X-Men #23 by Gail Simone, David Marquez and Matthew Wilson with VC's Clayton Cowles to comic book stores today. The first part of a new story arc, the issue includes appearances by Jubilee, who was once a New Warrior when using the codename Wondra. Marvel described the issue with the following:
A forgotten vow from one of the team comes back to haunt them all in the most SHOCKING way imaginable, as ghastly guest stars from Marvel's past threaten to take one of our most beloved mutants into their number forever! Can the Uncanny X-Men stop their friend from being taken to WHERE MONSTERS DWELL?
Lastly, today also saw the release of the collected edition New Champions: Change is Coming, reprinting the entire 8-issue New Champions series released last year. New Champions #3 by Steve Foxe, Ivan Fiorelli and Arthur Hesli with VC's Travis Lanham guest-starred the previous Champions team, including Nova (Sam Alexander). The younger Nova was also a member of the 2014 iteration of the New Warriors, and co-starred with Richard Rider in the 2016 Nova series.
The Return of Alex Power? The Future Foundation is back this May for Fantastic Four #11 by Ryan North and Patrick Boutin. Begun as a school of young geniuses assembled by Mr. Fantastic, the Future Foundation included Alex Power of Power Pack and the New Warriors. After some cosmic adventures (and their own short-lived series where Alex Power served as team leader), the Future Foundation eventually returned to Earth and disbanded. It's not yet confirmed which members of the Future Foundation will appear, but we'll be watching to see if Alex reunites with his old teammates. Fantastic Four #11 will be on sale May 13.
